Italian menu
The Italian menu consists of:
- Antipasti aka appetizers.
Vegetables and cold cuts are common appetizers. - The next dish is Primo Piatto: Pasta, risotto, salad or soup are the most typical intermediate dishes.
- Secondo Piatto is the main dish and it's usually very simple: Meat or fish with a side dish of vegetables.
- Dolce is a dessert that is traditionally very sweet.
In this course, we make Bruschetta con Insalata Caprese as antipasti, 7 different Primo Piatto options, Lasagne as Secondo Piatto and Tiramisu as Dolce.
If you cook the whole menu with antipasti, one or two primo piatto, secondi piatto and dolce, it will take about 3 hours including dining.
A single dish takes less than 20 minutes from start to plate including lasagne if time in oven and time of cooling is not counted!
What a great way to spend an evening with family or friends! Or even better if you cook all together!
Each portion is for two people and lasagne for four if eaten as a single dish. If you cook whole menu with antipasti, one or two priomo piatto, secondi piatto and dolce, still the same measurements in each portions stand as they are smaller for each guest, but the total amount of food is the same with 4-5 different dishes. Multiple small portions which culminates to secondi piatto and dolce. That's the Italian way of la docle vita!
The finer the restaurant, the smaller the portions! - swing by a Micheling stared restaurant if you haven't noticed.
In addition, we talk about the wines that are suitable with portions and how the wine should be combined with selected food.
