We are seeking an experienced and skilled Skipper to lead our maritime operations. As the Skipper, you will be responsible for safely navigating our vessels, ensuring the well-being of passengers and crew, and delivering an exceptional experience on the water. This position requires a thorough understanding of maritime regulations, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for providing a safe and enjoyable journey for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and navigate vessels, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Conduct pre-departure safety briefings for passengers and crew.
- Lead and manage a crew, delegating responsibilities and fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Provide training to crew members on safety procedures, emergency protocols, and vessel operations.
- Ensure a high level of customer service by interacting with passengers, addressing their needs, and creating a positive and enjoyable experience on board.
- Handle passenger inquiries and requests with professionalism and courtesy.
- Oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the vessel, conducting regular inspections to ensure it meets safety and operational standards.
- Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams to address any technical issues promptly.
- Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, including but not limited to, medical incidents, engine failure, or adverse weather conditions.
- Implement emergency procedures and protocols to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
- Plan and execute safe and enjoyable routes, considering weather conditions, navigational hazards, and passenger comfort.
- Stay informed about weather forecasts and other factors that may affect the journey.
- Stay up-to-date with maritime regulations and ensure the vessel complies with all relevant laws and requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and records related to vessel operations.
Qualifications
- Valid Captain's license or relevant maritime certification.
- Proven experience as a Skipper or Captain, preferably in the tourism or recreational boating industry.
- Excellent navigation and seamanship skills.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with local waters, ports, and navigational routes.
- Valid work permit for EU
